POSITION: School Librarian Full-Time Probationary Appointment LOCATION: Edward J. Arthur Elementary QUALIFICATIONS: New York State certified (or certifiable) as a library media specialist; ability to work cooperatively with other staff; enthusiasm for program and willingness to support classroom instructional program as a resource person. Knowledge of technology and its application to research and instruction. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are examples of typical duties association with the position; but the list is not all inclusive, and other duties appropriate to the position may also be assigned. 1. Delivery of elementary library program 2. Working cooperatively with classroom teachers 3. Incorporation of technology into library/media program 4. Participation in building planning/problem solving efforts as needed or required; 5. Other responsibilities as required, to support the educational and professional goals of the district.
