POSITION: Teacher of the Hearing Impaired Full Time Probationary Appointment LOCATION: High School QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified (or certifiable) in American Sign Language and/or Deaf & Hearing Impaired. Dual certifications preferred; familiarity with current research, methodology and learning standards in American Sign Language. Previous background/ experience desirable. MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES: The following are examples of typical duties associated with the position; but the list is not all inclusive, and other duties appropriate to the position may also be assigned. Delivery of American Sign Language program;Participation as required and/or able, on building and district curriculum or program committees;Participation in building planning/problem solving efforts as needed or required;Articulation of student program and progress to parents.
