Position: F/T Leave Replacement Jr./Sr. HS Chorus Teacher The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered Jr./Sr. High School Chorus Leave Replacement Teacher to join our outstanding K-12 Music Department. The successful candidate will inspire students through exceptional choral instruction, foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and contribute to a vibrant performing arts program. We are seeking an educator who values artistic excellence, collaboration, creativity and student growth, who is committed to cultivating a lifelong appreciation for music in all learners. Responsibilities Teach middle and high school choral music courses, including curricular and performance-based ensembles Prepare and conduct choral concerts and performances throughout the school year Foster healthy vocal technique, musicianship, music literacy and ensemble skills Prepare students for and participate in NYSSMA festivals and related adjudication opportunities Collaborate with fellow music educators to support a comprehensive K-12 music program Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices into music instruction Support and/or participate in the school’s musical theater productions Maintain a positive, engaging and well-managed classroom environment Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators Participate in department, school, and district initiatives as appropriate Qualifications Required : New York State Certification in Music (K-12) Strong background in vocal and choral music education Demonstrated effective classroom management skills Commitment to inclusive, student-centered instructional practices Strong communication and collaborative skills Preferred : Strong piano proficiency for rehearsal, instruction and accompaniment Experience with musical theater, including vocal direction, pit collaboration, or production support Familiarity with NYSSMA repertoire, procedures, and adjudication Experience integrating music technology into instruction Ability to work collaboratively within a highly active performing arts department Cover letter may be addressed to Brian Taylor, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources No telephone calls, please
