We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered Art Teacher who believes in the transformative power of visual arts education. Candidates should: Be a caring, compassionate, and patient educator who builds meaningful relationships with students. Understand the value and purpose of art education in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and self-expression. Create a positive classroom culture that encourages experimentation, perseverance, and artistic excellence. Demonstrate a genuine willingness to invest the time and effort necessary to support students both academically and creatively. Design engaging, standards-based lessons that inspire creativity and artistic growth. Teach both traditional and digital art techniques by integrating technology and digital media into student learning experiences. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and learning styles. Foster an inclusive classroom where all students feel respected, encouraged, and inspired to take creative risks. Assess student progress through authentic, meaningful evaluation and constructive feedback. Possess strong knowledge of traditional fine arts, including drawing, painting, design, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. Stay current with contemporary art practices, emerging technologies, and instructional best practices. Be collaborative, dependable, and eager to contribute positively to the school community. Be an accomplished practicing artist with a demonstrated portfolio of personal artistic achievement. Support students in developing portfolios for exhibitions, competitions, scholarships, and college admissions where appropriate. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and administrators to support student success. Participate in school exhibitions, community art events, and extracurricular opportunities that celebrate student achievement. Qualifications: New York State Certification in Visual Arts (or eligibility for certification) required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, digital photography, video production, animation, or other digital art platforms preferred. Experience teaching multiple grade levels preferred.
