The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering stimulating lessons to a diverse student body, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement instructional materials and strategies that cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students, including those with varying mental, physical, and emotional abilities.Provide individualized and group instruction to support students' academic, social, and emotional development and facilitate their successful integration into the school environment.Create and maintain a well-structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes active engagement, collaboration, and respect for all learners.Continuously assess and monitor students' academic and social progress, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records that inform instructional decision-making and individualized support.Design and implement instructional plans and activities that align with the school, and state policies, goals, and objectives, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education that meets their unique needs.Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians through various channels, fostering a strong partnership between home and school.Attend and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual student progress, address concerns, and interpret school programs and policies.Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and other professionals to identify and address students' learning, social, emotional, and health needs, ensuring that each student receives comprehensive and coordinated support.Design a stimulating and engaging learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through the effective use of displays, resources, and technology.Engage in ongoing professional development and learning opportunities to enhance teaching practices, stay abreast of current research and best practices, and continuously improve instructional effectiveness.Actively participate in the district's evaluation process, working collaboratively with administrators to set professional goals, receive feedback, and support continuous growth and development.Record student behavior, performance, and progress using platforms such as PowerSchool.Maintain documentation and data for use in progress monitoring progress reports and report cards. Academic & Certification QualificationsBachelor’s degree required Master’s degree preferredValid New York State Childhood Education Certification in Grades B-2 or 1–6 a MustStrong knowledge of NYS learning standards and effective teaching strategiesExcellent communication, classroom management, and collaboration skillsWork experience & skills –Minimum of three years K –6 Certified teaching experienceAble to improve curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level teamPassionately dedicated to school’s mission with a steadfast belief that all students will receive a rigorous elementary foundationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills required to develop rubrics, examine data and metrics that will enhance student knowledge and promote performance of superior work productsProven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse team of teachers and administratorsKnowledge of childhood development and demonstrated experience with executing planned lessons to meet the differential needs of each childStrong written, grammatical, presentation, and verbal communication skillsExperience working with at-risk student population in some capacity preferredWorking knowledge and comfort level with instructional technologyCompensationA competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available.
