We are committed to a strong partnership with our teachers, parents, and community.Overview:The Academic Intervention Services Teacher is responsible for working directly with high school students to provide supplemental support in achieving measurable improvements in reading and mathematics. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferredValid NYS teacher certification (7-12) requiredAt least 3 years of teaching experienceMastery of content knowledge in assigned area (s) of instruction Mastery of assigned subject; knowledge of current practices Duties and Responsibilities:Provide push-in and pull out intervention support for individual students, small groups and entire classes in Math, English, Social Studies and ScienceAdvise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for students and share best practices to ensure high quality instructionHelp plan and implement building level staff development and observe instructional consistency to support core reading and math skills across the curriculumUse data from screening, diagnostic, interim, formative and summative assessments to track and report student progress toward goals set in learning plansCreate and maintain logs of daily student attendance, student progress, lesson plans and parent contactCommunicate students’ progress and interventions with faculty, students and families Actively participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional developmentServe as a member of the school RTI teamDemonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology and augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunicationsAdditional duties as assigned by the Principal or his designeeCompensationA competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available.
