We are committed to a strong partnership with our teachers, parents, and community.Overview:Holds primary responsibility for designing and implementing direct ELL instruction and collaborating with teachers in grades K-12 to provide English language support in other content areas. Teacher is expected to evaluate, instruct, and improve English proficiency as well as serve as resource to the school for English language concerns.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferredValid NYS ESOL certification required (All Grades) - RequiredBilingual Certified preferred or Spanish proficiency preferred Duties and Responsibilities:Administer diagnostic and state mandated assessments of English Language LearnersUtilize formal and informal assessment data to drive instruction and ensure student mastery of standardsEvaluate, determine goals for, and track the progress of individual English language learners, and communicate with faculty, students, and families.Provide direct instruction to small groups of students and/or provide inclusion support for ELA classes containing ELL students, based on caseload.Design the curriculum and supplementary material that challenges the learning ability of students and ensures overall development of languageAdvise teachers on modifying/accommodating curriculum for students and share best practices to ensure high quality instruction.Implement and deliver quality instruction to students that prepare students to pass the NYSESLATActively participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional developmentDemonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology and augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunicationsKeep informed of and comply with federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies for ELL education teachers.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.Other duties as assigned. Compensation A competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available.
