Qualifications: • NYS Certified Teacher of Speech and Language Disabled (TSSLD).• Prior experience instructing students who are deaf and/or deaf with disabilities is preferred.• American Sign Language (ASL) is required.Primary Responsibilities:• Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of auditory, speech, language and oralmotor skills to obtain a current level of functioning.• Plans, provides and documents appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meetindividual student’s needs in speech, language and auditory functioning.• Completes progress notes and annual assessments as required on student’s IEP.Submits lesson plans as required by supervisor.• Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of auditory, speechand language.• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families.• Attends professional development conferences in order to remain current in theprofession.• Assumes responsibility for maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies.• Keeps thorough, ongoing records for the individual students on their caseload.• Attends staff meetings as required.• Completes all requested or required paperwork, reports and progress notes by theassigned date.Application Deadline: 4/16/2023
