Croton-Harmon High School has an immediate opening for a leave replacement position in Chemistry. Certification in Chemistry is preferred or certification in another science area with a background teaching Chemistry.The candidate will be teaching 2 sections of AP Chemistry, 1 section of Psychology, and 1 section of Ecology.The successful candidate will be able to:Plan and implement curriculum for each course and help students prepare for the culminating assessment in an AP course.Commit to ongoing professional learning and develop and adjust curriculum on an ongoing basis to meet students’ needs and interests.Stay current on best and burgeoning pedagogical and curricular practices.Become familiar with our District’s Vision Map.Plan collaboratively with colleagues and co-teachers and be open to sharing and learning with and from others.Create a personalized learning environment for students that meets individual needs and challenges students to reach their full potential. Have the ability to self-evaluate, be reflective and problem solve.Perform all other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education:Degree in Science/Science Education or similar. Experience:1-3 years of classroom experience preferred.Certificates & Licenses:Must be certified in Science, Chemistry preferred.
