Elementary LibrarianJob Type: Full Time (10 Month)Post Date: July 20, 2023Application Deadline: August 3, 2023Tentative Start Date: August 30, 2023Description: The Cooperstown Central School District seeks a dynamic and innovative candidate for Elementary Librarian. Cooperstown Elementary School is a dynamic neighborhood school that spans K-6 with an approximate enrollment of 400 students. We offer rich and varied educational programs and have an active, supportive parent body. We understand the roles of the librarian include teacher, leader, instructional partner, information specialist, and program administrator. The successful candidate will have an expansive knowledge of child and adolescent texts, both fiction and non-fiction, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with students and faculty whilst maintaining a welcoming and engaging learning space to direct, enhance, and support the learning process. Knowledge of curricular areas is essential in order to serve the interdisciplinary needs of the learning community. The goal of the librarian is to work in a flexible environment, collaborating with staff, teaching skills to students and staff, and maintaining the library collection. Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess appropriate NYS certification. Individuals holding another certification but working toward or planning to work toward the Library Media Specialist credential may be considered.
