Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is seeking a dedicated and NYS-certified Art Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This itinerant position will serve students in both Auburn Enlarged City School District and Weedsport Central School District. The successful candidate will provide high-quality art instruction that fosters creativity, artistic expression, and skill development while supporting diverse learning styles and student needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about arts education and committed to creating engaging, inclusive learning environments that inspire students to explore and develop their artistic abilities. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging visual arts instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards for the Arts. Develop and implement lessons that promote creativity, artistic techniques, critical thinking, and appreciation of the arts. Utilize a variety of artistic media, materials, and instructional strategies to support student learning and engagement. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, developmental, and artistic needs of students. Assess student learning and artistic growth using a variety of formal and informal assessment methods. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff. Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote interdisciplinary learning and student success. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages creativity, respect, and student participation. Manage and maintain art supplies, materials, and classroom spaces to ensure safety and effective instruction. Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and district initiatives as appropriate. Travel between assigned school districts and maintain flexibility in supporting both school communities. Qualifications New York State Certification in Art Education (required). Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple school settings.
