The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is accepting applications for two NYS Certified English teachers for our the Compass Program, our Alternative Education Program. The Compass Program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is an alternative education program for middle and high school students who have experienced difficulty in attaining school success within a traditional learning environment. The program offers small class sizes and individualized support to help prepare students for a Regent’s diploma.The Compass Program offers:Small group instruction, at grade level, within a supportive settingIncreased student engagement created from a project-based learning modelExposure to the community through public resources and academic field tripsStrong development of communication between home and schoolInvolvement in a full-day block scheduleA structured program environment with clear expectationsAccountability for individual actionsPositive Incentive ProgramsThe successful candidate must possess or be eligible for NYS Certification in English 7-12.This is a full-time, 10 month position that follows the school calendar.
