The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is accepting applications for a teacher in our New Vision Medical Professions program as part of our Career and Technical Education Department. This position requires the applicant to have an in-depth, comprehensive knowledge of the medical field, with a background in the medical field preferred, but not required. The teacher will be responsible for delivering an engaging curriculum that introduces students to a variety of aspects of the healthcare industry across a broad range of specialties, with Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology as core components of the curriculum. The teacher will also facilitate hands-on learning experiences through clinical rotations at various healthcare facilities around the Auburn region. The position requires collaboration with multiple healthcare professionals and a commitment to providing students with positive real-world learning experiences. The successful candidate must possess or be eligible for NYS Certification in Biology 7-12, Health Education, or a Trans A Certificate in Practical Nursing or Medical Assisting. Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, in cooperation with Auburn Community Hospital, will provide an inside look at medical professions found in hospitals and ancillary health care facilities. Through daily involvement with various medical staff, students will learn what is required of healthcare professionals and the application of their education to real-life situations on the job.
