The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES located in Auburn, NY is now accepting applications for a NYS Certified Math Teacher in our Alternative Education Program for the 2024-2025 School Year. The Compass Program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is an alternative education program for middle and high school students who have experienced difficulty in attaining school success within a traditional learning environment. The program offers small class sizes and individualized support to help prepare students for a Regent’s diploma.The Compass Program offers:Small group instruction, at grade level, within a supportive settingIncreased student engagement created from a project-based learning modelExposure to the community through public resources and academic field tripsStrong development of communication between home and schoolInvolvement in a full-day block scheduleA structured program environment with clear expectationsAccountability for individual actionsPositive Incentive ProgramsCandidates should possess the ability to work with diverse middle and high school students in a variety of educational settings.
