The Cayuga- Onondaga BOCES is seeking applicants for a Principal of Special Education. This is a 12-Month Position. The Principal of Special Education is responsible for the supervision of students and staff within the Special Education Department, and works as part of a team of Principals, under the direction of the Director of Special Education. The Principal has a strong background in Special Education and a passion for working with students with disabilities. The Principal works closely with component district administrators to ensure student success. The Principal may travel between locations, depending on the assignment. This position will be primarily supporting students in our 6:1:2 Autism Program housed in the Jordan-Elbridge School District. In this program, students are diagnosed with Autism or related disorder(s). This program assists students with communication skills, self-regulation skills, self-help skills, daily living skills and other individualized learning targets. The program utilizes the TEACCH model. Knowledge and experience working with students with Autism or related disorder(s) is preferred. Training will be provided. Candidates must have or be eligible for NYS Certification as a School Building Leaded or School Building Administrator and have a strong background in Special Education.
