The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Professional Development Unit has an exciting opportunity for a NYS Certified Teacher with a passion for teaching and learning! We are now accepting applications for an Instructional Coach. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of NYS standards, curriculum and instruction, current educational trends, initiatives for school reform and best practices in professional development. Valid NYS Teacher Certification is required. This is a Ten (10) month position, with up to 30 additional summer days as needed.The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:Support Planning Efforts of Districts:Consult and collaborate with district leaders to plan goal-oriented and data-driven professional developmentResearch and disseminate information relative to the improvement of teaching and learningSupport the work of NYSED initiatives and NYS Standards implementationOnsite Professional Coaching and Follow-Up:Assess the skill level of teachers to aid in the continual development of programs that meet the needs of the participantsModel strategies and provide ongoing support, mentoring and coaching through individual meetings as well as in workshop settingsDevelop methods and strategies for designing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning programsProvide continuing support for instruction by conducting classroom demonstrations, diagnostic observation with feedback, lesson planning and problem solvingWorkshops- On-Site and /or Regional:Design and deliver a variety of single day, multi-day and afterschool workshops based on district goals and requestsPlan and deliver customized professional development services through presentation, facilitation, planning sessions, and consultationBenefits of working with us:Competitive salary, commensurate with experience10 month salary starting at $57,000 plus per diem daily rate for up to 30 summer daysFull benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurancePaid sick, personal, and family illness daysPossibility of Public Service Loan Forgiveness403BFlex spendingEmployee Assistance ProgramNYS Teacher Retirement System PensionGreat Work/Life BalanceIn this position, you'll be a part of a great team that believes in our BOCES purpose to UNLEASH POTENTIAL IN OUR COMMUNITY.
