Cambridge Central School District has an anticipated opening for a Speech and Language Pathologist, to deliver Individual Education Plan (IEP) services in a special education setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary-aged children, providing direct service. The position is a 1.0 FTE tenure track position. Position Summary: The Speech Language Provider will provide therapy services to students with disabilities as outlined in the IEP. The provider will help create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages student learning. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Works collaboratively with the special education teacher, occupational and physical therapy providers to assure a cohesive educational program.· Follows student’s IEP to plan and implement speech and language activities, monitors student progress, and provides IEP updates during the school year.· Provides mandated speech and language therapy for students as described on each student's IEP.· Able to develop and monitor IEP goals and objectives.· Able to administer, analyze and score standardized assessments to generate the necessary reports and recommendations. · Serve as the Speech and Language Pathologist at CSE meetings for students, demonstrating a strong knowledge of the CSE process, referral and evaluation processes and IEP development.· Maintains IEP compliance, student files and rosters for the school team.· Interprets assessment findings and conveys information to parents and school staff.· Develops and implements intervention strategies.· Serves as resource to parents, school staff and administration.· Collaborates with community therapists and other healthcare providers for effective coordination of speech and language services.· Maintain Medicaid compliant session notes.· Assesses the need for assistive technology and equipment and makes recommendations for its use at school to help students function as independently as possible.· Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
