The Clinton Central School District is seeking a qualified person to fulfill the duties of District Treasurer beginning on July 1, 2024 to be compensated at an annual salary between $50,000 and $60,000 depending on experience.POSITION SUMMARY:The Treasurer in the Business Office is responsible for keeping an accurate record of finances of a school district. The work is performed under the general supervision of the School Business Administrator. The incumbent performs related work as required. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Performs double entry accounting for all funds utilizing New York State municipal accounting system.2. Maintain general ledger, cash receipts and cash disbursements for all funds (General, School Lunch, Special Aid, Capital and Other Funds)3. Complete a monthly trial balance and treasurer’s reports for board meetings.4. Monitor the District’s cash flow.5. Maintain records related to New York State and Federal grants.6. Verify and record receipts and process monthly journal entries.7. Receive funds and make deposits.8. Assists in the accounts payable process by completing payments and ensuring correct documentation by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.9. Transfer funds as needed, including wire and ACH transfers.10. Assist in administering investment and debt service programs.11. Assist the external auditor with annual review.12. Prepares annual financial report (ST3, ESSA Financial Transparency, etc.13. Report quarterly sales tax14. Assist in year-end closing.15. Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.16. Maintains the District’s fixed asset database. 17. Compiles, prepares and types data for simple financial and statistical reports.18. Helps to review and check routine account keeping records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy and completeness. 19. Operates a computer, calculator, and other office machines, as necessary.20. Answer telephone and provide information on routine matters.21. Any other duties assigned by the School Business Administrator which will assist in the overall operation of the business office.REPORTS TO:School Business AdministratorBoard of Education QUALIFICATIONS 1. At least three years of school business experience, involving keeping or auditing financial records; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field is preferred.2. Knowledge of various financial reporting including cash flow projections, trial balances, revenue status, appropriation status, grants, ST3, etc.3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, procedures and policies as they relate to school district finances.4. Ability to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.5. Ability to work with peers, co-workers and others with minimal supervision. 6. Ability to organize, prepare and maintain accurate records and files. 7.
