The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of English Teacher at Horace Greeley High School beginning September 2, 2025.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong, broad knowledge of fiction and non-fiction literature, both classic and contemporary, with a particular focus on American texts.Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planning.Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
