The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. We are committed to hiring an inclusive teaching staff to create warm, joyful, student-centered, and welcoming schools.Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of School Psychologist beginning 8/31/2023. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Conducts psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological issues.Conducts individual or group sessions for students in need of explicit support in a wide range of areas including social skills, executive functioning and healthy decision making.Serves as a resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.Participates and assists in the facilitation of the MTSS process and other such meetings. Current knowledge of best practices in educating students with disabilities in inclusive school environments.Ability to effectively facilitate group decision making processes.Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CPSE, CSE and Section 504.Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrates leadership in working collaboratively with parents, teachers, students, building and district leaders.Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology, conducts in-service programs as requested.Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Qualifications Profile/Experience:NYS School Psychologist Certification required.Previous experience as a School Psychologist required.This position includes a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Application deadline: ASAPSalary Range: $69,426 - $149,200OLAS Instructions: Please apply on OLAS for this position and through our website www.chappaquaschools.org (click the “Join Our Team” logo in the upper right corner of the home page).
