The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Mathematics Teacher - Grades 9-12 at Horace Greeley High School beginning 8/31/2023. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Develops and actualizes a learning environment consistent with school district vision, goals and objectives.Familiar with NYS Math Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.Thoughtfully centers equity in the daily learning experiences to support the students' awareness of identity and inclusivity. Knowledge of math content from algebra through calculus; experience teaching higher level mathematics courses is preferred.Exude a joy of learning and an ability to work with students of all skill and ability levels.Experience with social and emotional learning and building a positive classroom culture that focuses on the development of the whole child (knowledge of RULER is a plus).Develops clear, engaging, and relevant lesson plans that appropriately challenge students and demonstrate current educational pedagogy. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and inquiry based learning experiences.Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solving using an inquiry based approach.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Committed to student-centered and student-driven learning experiences with opportunities for student voice and choice.
