The priority in Chappaqua is clear: to be a learning organization where talented individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen and valued and are committed to doing their best work!Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, engaging, and innovative Mathematics Teacher for an anticipated short-term leave replacement position for Grades 9-12 (2022-2023 school year), from December 1, 2022, through December 23, 2022.Essential Performance ResponsibilitiesDevelops and actualizes a mathematics learning environment consistent with school district vision, goals and objectives.Knowledge of math content from algebra through calculus, including statistics; experience teaching higher level mathematics courses.Must exhibit a joy of learning and an ability to work with students of all skill and ability levels.Candidates will be encouraged to contribute to our SEL work (knowledge of RULER is a plus).Knowledge of current instructional methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated and tiered instruction.Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with colleagues, students, and the broader community. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and inquiry-based learning experiences.Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solving using an inquiry-based approach.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within the department. Certification/License:New York State Certification as a Mathematics Teacher Gr. 7 - 12 ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience in mathematics at the high school is preferred.This position includes a competitive salary.
