The priority in Chappaqua is clear: to be a learning organization where talented individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen and valued, and are committed to doing their best work!Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, engaging and innovative educator to serve in the position of Mathematics Teacher - Grades 9-12 (2022-2023 school year)PREVIOUS CANDIDATES NEED NOT APPLYEssential Performance ResponsibilitiesDevelops and actualizes a mathematics learning environment consistent with school district vision, goals and objectives.Knowledge of math content from algebra through calculus, including statistics; experience teaching higher level mathematics courses.Must exhibit a joy of learning and an ability to work with students of all skill and ability levels.Candidates will be encouraged to contribute to our SEL work (knowledge of RULER is a plus).Knowledge of current instructional methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated and tiered instruction.Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with colleagues, students and the broader community. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and inquiry based learning experiences.Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solving using an inquiry based approach.Continues to engage in meaningful professional learning opportunities through readings, workshops, podcasts, conferences, and an active PLN.
