The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated leave replacement position of Middle School Orchestra Teacher at Seven Bridges Middle School from mid-December 2023 through mid-February 2024.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Leave replacement position starting mid-December 2023 through mid-February 2024.Actualizes an instrumental music program consistent with school district vision, goals and objectives for students in Grades 5 - 8.Promotes an instrumental classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, based on student's musical readiness levels.Utilizes repertoire of all types of music, as appropriate.Familiar with all orchestra related instruments including, but not limited to, the violin, viola, cello, and bass. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Coordinates and collaborates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.Skilled instruction in the training and development of middle school musicians through various methods.Teach some general music courses.Familiarity with preparing students for various concerts through small group instruction. Certification/License:New York State Certification as a Music Teacher Gr.
