Schedule: Work Year - 12-month work yearLocation: Administration Office Salary: As per CSEA contract Appt: pending NYHELPS classificationPosition DescriptionDistinguishing Features of the Class: The work involves responsibility for providing technical support and assistance in the installation, operation, and maintenance of the organizations computer systems. The work includes problem solving in application of both hardware and software. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Network Administrator, with considerable leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Does related work as required. Typical Work Activities: (Illustrative Only)Provides technical assistance to employees in use of equipment, problem solving, and software malfunctions; Installs, repairs and maintains computers and related equipment, including printers, modems, scanners, cabling, etc.;Operates diagnostic equipment and performs general repair and upgrades; Installs software and maintains software libraries and manuals; Provides basic instruction on use of equipment, software, and applications to employees; Installs Local Area Networks and Distributed Area Networks for instructional and administrative needs; Maintains problem logs; Maintains equipment, software and parts inventories.
