MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCEMENTThe Cohoes City School District seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Principal for Cohoes Middle School in support of the District’s mission and vision to prepare students for success in tomorrow’s world, ensuring all students graduate with a purpose and a plan.POSITION The successful candidate is a strong educational leader who creates a shared vision of success for all learners through the instructional program, staff leadership, student, parental, and community engagement, and management of building resources.START DATE: As soon as possible, but no later than July 1, 2025Applicants for this position should demonstrate: Commitment to a climate of collaboration and cooperation that demonstrates collective responsibility for enhanced teaching and learning Commitment to the belief in having high expectations for all students as the key to closing the achievement gap between advantaged and less advantaged students Commitment to engagement of staff, parents/guardians and students to transform the district’s vision into achievable school goals that align with district goals, standards and expectations Commitment to excellence in instructional leadership with content knowledge of best practices in literacy, numeracy, digital fluency and intervention strategies Leadership in improving academic outcomes for all students by integrating and aligning faculty selection, teacher evaluation, professional development and school improvement strategies to learning standards and school goals Commitment to equity informed practices Commitment to trauma responsive and restorative practices Strong collaborative leadership skills to lead teachers, parents and community members in improving student academic and behavioral outcomes Skill and expertise in the use of data to inform instructional outcomes; preparing the timely preparation and submission of reports as required by the district, state and other agencies The ability to plan and present professional learning experiences Leadership experience focused on capacity and community building, innovation and continuous improvement An effective manager of people, data and processes Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills Additional Requirements New York State certification as a School Building Leader, (SBL), or School Administrator and Supervisor,(SAS),is requiredMasters Degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as an administrator or other educational leader Candidates must apply online at www.olasjobs.org and should include placement credentials, academic transcripts, verification of NYS SBL or SAS certification, and three recent letters of supervisory recommendation.
