Located in the Capital District of upstate New York, Cohoes City School District is a small city school district with a total enrollment of over 2,000 students. With the goal of immersing students in learning to become creative thinkers, life-long learners and effective problem-solvers, the ideal candidate is committed to student academic success.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The Deputy Internal Claims Auditor should be familiar with the legal requirements associated with purchases in a public school environment including Bid Law - Section 103 & Section 104-b of General Municipal Law. The individual should also be familiar with lease agreements, county contracts and professional service/consultant contracts. The Deputy Internal Claims Auditor shall be responsible for formally examining, allowing or rejecting all accounts, charges, claims or demands against the school district. The Board of Education shall designate and appoint the Deputy Internal Claims Auditor on an annual basis. The Deputy Internal Claims Auditor shall report directly to the Board of Education. The Board shall direct the Deputy Internal Claims Auditor to provide reports in the format that the Board desires, as well as establish the frequency of such reports.Acceptable Experience and Training2-year degree (preferably in accounting) from an accredited institution of higher learning and 2 years’ experience in a position of similar magnitude, or Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptableWhy choose Cohoes?
