Crossroads Center for Children is seeking an organized and dedicated individual who is knowledgeable about child development for birth through 12 years of age to help oversee the provision of Crossroad’s special education and nursery school program. This is a mid-level management position that will be supervised by Crossroads’ Director of Education.Crossroads Center for Children is located in Rotterdam, NY and offers several different programs for children ages two through twelve. This position involves working collaboratively with BCBAs, special educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapist, and teaching assistants in the delivery of quality ABA services in a school setting.?The major responsibilities of this position involve training and monitoring the educational aspect of student programming for both the special education population as well as the children aged 2-5 who attend program for nursery school services. This position also involves the ongoing supervision of staff to ensure quality.Job description includes, but is not limited to:Training staff on the development of quality lesson plans,Monitoring lesson plans and newslettersReviewing individualized goal plan to ensure that goals are appropriately chosen based on child prerequisite skills (this includes goals on the child’s IEP as well as supplemental goals added to create a comprehensive treatment plan)Coordinating with school districts for IEP goal change requestsCoordinating Alternative Assessment for school aged students as neededReviewing special education annual review documents for accuracy and completenessCandidates must possess:Strong organizational skillsEffective time-management skillsStrong communication skillsA desire to work with individuals with disabilitiesWillingness to learn and apply new skillsDependabilityBenefits include, but are not limited to:Generous time off accruals including sick, personal, and vacation timePaid initial trainingOpportunities for continuing professional developmentAccess to a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and visionThis is a full-time position (35 hours per week) that follows a school calendar, including a six-week summer program. School breaks are paid vacation weeks with the exception of 3 vacation weeks during the summer. Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Speech and Language, ABA or related field is required. School Administration Certification is preferred. Teaching experience is required. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is preferred. Familiarity with ABA programming and assessment tools is preferred.
