About Crossroads Crossroads Center for Children, located in the Princetown, NY provides specialized education for students ages 2–10. Our preschool program serves young learners ages 2–5 in integrated specialized classrooms designed to support children with autism and similar developmental needs. Our programs use principles from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—an evidence-based approach that focuses on teaching meaningful skills, encouraging positive behaviors, and helping children develop functional communication. Our classrooms are highly collaborative environments where teachers work alongside: Teaching Assistants Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) Speech & Language Pathologists Occupational Therapists Physical Therapists You’ll have a full team supporting you and your students every step of the way. Our Philosophy Crossroads utilizes interventions from ABA, a field grounded in the scientific study of learning and behavior. What Your Days Will Look Like As a Preschool Special Education Teacher, you’ll lead a classroom focused on early learning through structured teaching, play, and social interaction. You’ll work closely with an Educational Supervisor and BCBA to help students reach their developmental goals. Each classroom includes multiple teaching assistants to support instruction and student engagement. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and leading engaging group activities focused on early learning, play, and social skills Teaching communication, play, and self-help skills through structured and natural learning opportunities Creating and updating individualized skill acquisition materials and binders Providing Discrete Trial Instruction (DTI) and other ABA-based teaching strategies Supervising and supporting teaching assistants Scheduling classroom staff coverage Writing reports and maintaining documentation Collaborating with BCBAs and related service providers to implement students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Attending IEP, team, and school meetings Collecting ABA data to track student progress and guide instruction Celebrating the many small victories that lead to big developmental gains What We’re Looking For We’re seeking teachers who are: Patient, energetic, and compassionate Fun-loving and comfortable getting on the floor to play and teach Mission-driven and dedicated to helping children succeed Organized and dependable Lifelong learners excited to grow their skills Schedule Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Follows a school-year calendar, including a six-week summer program.
