Description:The Cazenovia Central School District is seeking an anticipated Network Technician to join our team. The Network Technician, under the supervision of the Director of Instructional Technology, is responsible for the maintenance, support, operation, development and security of computer hardware, software and network systems. This is a full time, non-negotiating, 12 month position with the civil service classification of Computer Services Technician/Network Engineer. The successful candidate must pass the required civil service exam. Duties:Performance expectations include, but are not limited to: Install, upgrade, configure and maintain computer hardware, software and network systemsTroubleshoot and repair problems with computers, network systems and software installationsAdminister and maintain local area networks and operating systemsPerform firewall, network and desktop security, Active Directory, software support, desktop support, Anti-Virus, backups, e-mail and storage duties, as assignedMaintain up-to-date knowledge of new trends in technology, data privacy, and security Maintain and support Identity and Account ManagementMaintain and support Software as a Service (SAAS)Lead a team in the completion of various projectsProvide feedback related to project plans for system and network upgrades and implementationSupport the maintenance of an in-house software listingProvide feedback related to departmental annual budget on hardware and software needsPerform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Instructional TechnologySkills and Abilities:Thorough knowledge of the use and operations of computers, local area networks and related peripheral equipmentAbility to quickly learn technology productsAbility to work independently and problem solve situationsExcellent communication, organization and interpersonal skillsMust possess the ability to work with end users of varied abilities from beginners to advanced users.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four-year college with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Data Processing, Information Technology or a closely related field; and three (3) years of full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent in the operation of a computer which shall have involved diagnosing and/or preventive maintenance of hardware, software and related peripheral equipment, including network administration and support; OR(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Data Processing, Information Technology or a closely related field; and five (5) years of full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent as listed in (A) above; OR(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and seven (7) years of full- time paid experience or its part-time equivalent as listed in (A) above; OR(D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of (A) and (B) or (C) above.Salary: $50,000 or DOEApplication Instructions:Please submit a cover letter, resume and contact information for three professional references by March 24, 2023 to:Jennifer RauxDirector of Instructional TechnologyCazenovia Central School District31 Emory Ave.Cazenovia, NY 13035315.655.1324jraux@caz.cnyric.org
