The Carmel Central School District is seeking an experienced school leader who will engage students, staff, and community members in working toward meeting building and district goals. The Middle School Principal must be student-centered, highly collaborative, and steadfast in inspiring our students, staff, and community.The leader we are seeking for our district must have building level NYS certification and experience with building level administration.Candidates should demonstrate the following qualities and skills:Educational Leadership- Engages and inspires faculty and staff to develop and implement plans for improving student achievement; engages in problem solving; reflects on goals, vision, and decisions; builds collaborative teams for effective decision making; exhibits flexibility and adaptability to changing situations; builds relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders; and immerses themselves into creating and sustaining positive building culture.Leadership in Student Achievement- Establishes high expectations for student achievement that are communicated to students, parents, and educators; oversees academic programs to best meet the diverse needs of our students including social-emotional learning, career/college readiness, school climate/student engagement, and attendance programs.Exemplary Communication- Works in partnership with our administrative staff through transparent, effective communication to create an informed community where all stakeholders are heard and valued.
