Please visit www.bayshoreschools.org for more information on our exceptional school community.Position Summary:The K-12 Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services will assist the Director of Pupil Personnel Services in providing leadership, direction, and support for the district's comprehensive pupil personnel services program across all grade levels (K-12). This role involves ensuring the delivery of a wide range of services designed to address the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, and to support their overall well-being.Responsibilities:Program Support and Coordination:Assist the Director in the development, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide pupil personnel services programs, including special education, counseling, health services, social work services, and related services.Help coordinate the delivery of services to students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations (IDEA) and district policies.Support the implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks and other multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).Case Management and Compliance:Oversee the case management process for students with disabilities, by chairing IEP/504 meetings and ensuring timely and accurate completion of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other required documentation.Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to special education, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other relevant laws.Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to pupil personnel services.Staff Supervision and Professional Development:Supervise and evaluate assigned pupil personnel services staff, including special education teachers, social workers, psychologists, and related service providers.Assist in the recruitment, selection, scheduling and orientation of new staff members.Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities for pupil personnel services staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.Student Support and Advocacy:Work with school administrators, teachers, and parents to address the needs of individual students and provide support and intervention as needed.Advocate for the needs of all students, ensuring they have access to the services and supports necessary to succeed.Promote a positive and supportive school climate that fosters student well-being and success.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of pupil personnel services.Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community about pupil personnel services programs and initiatives.Build strong relationships with community agencies and organizations to enhance the services available to students and families.Data Management and Reporting:Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to pupil personnel services programs and student outcomes.Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of student records and data.Qualifications:New York State Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL).Master's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pupil personnel services, including experience working with students with disabilities.Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or district setting.Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to special education and student services (IDEA, Section 504, etc.).Strong understanding of RTI, MTSS, and other multi-tiered systems of support.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals.Commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of the Bay Shore School District.Preferred Qualifications:Experience as an Assistant Director or Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services, or a related area.Application Process:Interested candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest, resume, copies of certifications, and three professional references to Kristina M.
