Director of Cultural Arts The Bay Shore Union Free School District , an equal opportunity employer, is seeking exceptional candidates for the Director of Cultural Arts. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing, developing, and advocating for the district’s comprehensive arts programs, including Music, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts. This role ensures that the Bay Shore's legacy of artistic excellence continues to flourish and remain accessible to all students. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Leadership: Design and implement a high-quality K-12 arts curriculum that aligns with New York State standards and promotes diverse cultural perspectives. Personnel Management: Supervise, evaluate, and provide professional development for all cultural arts faculty across the district. Program Advocacy: Serve as the primary spokesperson for the arts, fostering partnerships with local cultural institutions, parents, and the Bay Shore community. Budget & Grants: Oversee the department budget, manage equipment inventory, and pursue grant opportunities to enhance program funding. Event Coordination: Coordinate district-wide performances, art galleries, and competitions, ensuring high standards of production and student safety. Compliance: Ensure all programs meet state requirements and district policies, maintaining accurate records for student participation and achievement. Qualifications Certification: New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification. Education: Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Music Education, Arts Administration, or a related field. Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of successful teaching experience in the arts, with prior administrative or supervisory experience preferred. Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of diverse cultural traditions, and proficiency with educational technology and Infinite Campus.
