BRENTWOOD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT BRENTWOOD, NY 11717 The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educator: Elementary Special Education Teacher Qualifications: Must hold a NYS Certification in one of the following: Special Education Certification, SWD Grades 1-6, SWD All Grades, or SWD P-12 Knowledge and relevant experience in early childhood education and/or child development Related experience implementing student individualized education plans (IEPs) Early childhood special education teaching experience preferred Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide appropriate special education instruction and behavioral support to assigned children within the classroom setting Design and execute lessons that provide learning opportunities in accordance with student goals Establish and maintain classroom routines and student behavior expectations in accordance with positive behaviors interventions and supports Monitor student performance and behavioral progress by adjusting teaching strategies and techniques for improved student outcomes Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on student assessments, interventions and progress monitoring Collaborate as part of a team of special education professionals collectively delivering services to program enrolled children Oversee activities of the assigned teacher assistants and aides as part of the classroom staff Communicate appropriately with families of assigned children Increase professional knowledge in areas relevant to children enrolled in the program Enthusiastic, Bilingual and Diverse Candidates Encouraged to Apply Interested Applicants Please Submit Job Specific Cover Letter and Resume to: OLAS https://olasjobs.org/ Closing Date for Applications: August 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Resumes are carefully reviewed and those candidates whose qualifications are commensurate with our needs will be contacted for an interview.
