BRENTWOOD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT BRENTWOOD, NY 11717 The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy: Business Teacher 7-12 We are seeking an exceptional Business Education teacher who is passionate about designing innovative business courses that empower students to graduate with more than just a diploma. The ideal candidate will be forward - thinking, collaborative, and deeply committed to preparing students for successful futures in a wide range of careers. This position offers the unique opportunity to help expand our Business Institute, contribute to NYSED-approved CTE Business pathways, and join a department that is central to our district’s Graduation Plus mission—ensuring students leave high school with industry skills, credentials, and real-world experiences that set them apart. Qualifications: Must hold appropriate NYS Business Certification Preferred Qualifications: Successful teaching experience, including dual enrollment courses Work Based Learning Certification and/or Master of Business Administration or related field Experience with DECA or other career-related student organizations Responsibilities: Inspire students by teaching dynamic topics such as marketing principles, business operations, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy Enhance students' understanding and practical knowledge of real-world business practices. Engage students with exciting subjects like economics, resume writing, business career exploration, account management, technology in business, the stock market, accounting, and finance. Design innovative and hands-on projects that bring business concepts to life and spark students' interest. Stay informed on the latest trends and developments in the business world to provide relevant instruction. Develop creative and culturally relevant lesson plans that connect business concepts to students' lives Support the implementation and growth of official CTE pathways within our Business Institute, including opportunities for industry partnerships and work-based learning experiences. Integrate clear competencies, goals, and objectives into engaging and student-centered lesson plans. Use curricula that honor and reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of our student body. Develop motivational strategies to keep students excited and engaged in learning. Build strong professional relationships with other educators, local businesses, and community programs to enhance learning opportunities. Leverage public library resources to support student learning and career exploration. Contribute actively to our department’s continued growth and our district’s Graduation Plus strategic mission, preparing students with the skills, credentials, and experiences needed for long-term success.
