Secondary Building Principal Job Summary:Develop and maintain a positive learning environment which fosters high expectations for all students and staff. Implement a clear vision for school improvement which engages all stakeholders and ensures that curriculum, pedagogy and assessments are aligned to state and local standards.Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Minimum Requirements:Must hold SDA/SDL certificationMinimum of 5 years total of successful public school teaching experienceMinimum of 3 years total of successful secondary public school administrative experienceAdditional requirements include, but are not limited to:[Outstanding demonstrated leadership qualitiesAbility to provide instructional leadership in curriculum developmentAbility to think strategically, carry out District goals and collaborate with District stakeholders in alignment with District’s mission and visionAbility to make strategic organizational decisions to support the school’s goals, including the use of resources, space, technology, staff schedules and student programmingAbility to promote college and career readiness in all gradesCommitment to improved outcomes for all students, data-driven decision-making, differentiated instruction and continuous learningCollaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environmentEvaluate teachers and other staff members to ensure that the standardized curriculum is adhered to and identify areas of improvementEstablish educational leadership particularly in promoting the NYS Standards.
