Department Head of English Language Arts – High School(10.25 month work year) Job Summary:Responsible for supervising and evaluating English Language Arts teachers, fostering a rigorous and engaging curriculum aligned to the Next Generation Standards and monitoring student progress Minimum Requirements:Must hold appropriate NYS administrative certificationMinimum of 5 years successful teaching experience as an English Language Arts TeacherKnowledge of New York State Next Generation English Language Arts and Assessments Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: To help establish and maintain departmental policies in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by the New York State Education Department, the District and the Department of English Language Arts/Social StudiesTo maintain a high level of professional competence within the English Language Arts Department.
