The Briarcliff Manor SD is seeking an eager and highly qualified Instructional Math Coach to join our dynamic team of educators and fulfill our mission of inspiring and challenging students to realize their full potential academically, physically, socially and emotionally; prepare them to be successful in this global society. Position: Instructional Coach (Teacher on Assignment)Full Time: 1.0 + .1 Base Salary StipendSchedule: 10 months plus summer hours as neededTenure-track: YesLocation: Todd Elementary SchoolEffective Date: July 1, 2024Certification Required: NYS Childhood Education 1-6 and/or NYS Math 5-6 Extension and/or NYS Math Middle Childhood 5-9 Salary: Annual Salary per BTA Salary Schedule plus stipend equivalent to .1 of Base SalaryAssignment:The Instructional Math Coach will support teachers by providing ongoing professional development and building capacity through modeling and co-teaching. Qualified candidates will have successful experience supporting adult professional learning and providing individualized coaching support to staff. They will also have extensive successful math teaching experience with an inquiry-based, student-centered approach to instruction. The Instructional Match Coach will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to be innovative when designing and implementing systems to support staff development and student growth. Qualities & Responsibilities:Possess expertise in math instructional practices and deep knowledge of math standards and concepts.Experience with utilizing effective coaching principles and practices.Create structured coaching cycles to support specific grades, teams, and teachers.Ability to support teachers through modeling and co-teaching using progressive and innovative instructional methods in K-5 classrooms.Work directly with teachers on lesson design and implementation of research-based instructional practices through coaching.Develop and implement professional learning experiences around best practices in math instruction to build teacher capacity.Co-plan and facilitate team meetings and faculty meetings.Strong data analysis skills to support teachers in analyzing data and using assessment information to plan for differentiated daily instruction (ex. MAPS, State exams, program embedded data points.)Provide direct instruction to students through challenging activity-based exploration of mathematical concepts to enrich the learning experience.Implement and support the application of problem-based learning experiences for students to emphasize the importance of open-ended challenges and critical thinking.Work with building leadership and teacher teams to engage in strategic planning, including establishing goals and developing action plans.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSalary based on BTA CBA with an additional .1 stipend for professional development opportunities after school and/or during the summer (as needed and directed).The Briarcliff Manor School District has embarked on a journey to foster a more inclusive and equitable organization.
