The Supervisor of Guidance and Student Services (SGS) will supervise and lead the K-12 Guidance Department. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to the supervision of the following K-12 areas of focus: Academic Intervention Services, Counseling programs, Crisis Intervention; Student registration, orientation and transition; Master scheduling and eSchoolData; Student attendance. The Supervisor will also serve as the district liaison for all college and university district partnerships. The Supervisor will ensure design, implementation and maintenance of the district's Guidance Plan, and ensure compliance with all New York State Department of Education Commissioner’s Regulation §100.2(j). The Supervisor will support, evaluate and supervise all K-12 Guidance Counselors in partnership with building principals and district leadership. The Supervisor of Guidance and Student Services will report to the Director of Pupil Personnel Services. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience as a school counselor, creating master schedules, working with eSchoolData, leading and supporting counselors and educators; developing and supporting student academic intervention services, creating new student transition plans and supports; working knowledge of NYS §100.2(j). A strong candidate will have strong organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to be innovative when designing and implementing systems to support student learning and growth; working with the mission of providing students with the tools and opportunities to do well and be well. Certifications required: NYS School Counselor, NYS School Building Leader, NYS School District Leader
