ASSIGNMENT: The Instructional Coach will serve as a Teacher on Special Assignment and support teachers by modeling lessons, providing individualized support, and ongoing professional development to build capacity. Qualified candidates will have extensive successful teaching experience, and successful experience supporting adult professional learning. A strong candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to be innovative when designing and implementing systems to support staff and students’ growth and development. QUALITIES/RESPONSIBILITES:Provide professional learning and instructional support.Ability to support and model progressive and innovative instructional methods that will prepare staff and students for the future.Work directly with our teachers on lesson design and instructional coaching, developing culturally competent mindsets and practices. Teach and/or co-teach a model classroom consisting of at least one class or section of students. Create structured coaching cycles to support specific grades, teams, departments, and/or new teachers.Bring new ideas based on ever-changing technology. Provide professional development daily via modeling, workshops, co-teaching, coaching support, and more.Develop and support the management and metrics of data, using innovative tools such as walkthrough tools, professional learning, and other designs requested.Help build capacity of others through professional learning experiences.Implement and support the creation of problem-based learning units, to emphasize the importance of open-ended challenges and critical thinking.12-month positionSalary based on CBA with an additional .1 stipend for after school hours and up to 20 summer days (as needed and directed).
