The Brewster Central School District invites candidates interested in a 1.0 FTE Administrative Position (.6 P-TECH Coordinator /.4 Wells Middle School Assistant Principal) to apply. Position is effective August 16, 2023, or as soon as possible.Minimum QualificationsNew York State Administrative Certification: SDA, SDLThree years administrative experienceExperience with P-TECH, Career and Technical Education, and/or career planning preferredKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:P-TECHProvides instructional leadership, in concert with the principal and Deputy Superintendent, for the implementation of the P-TECH model;Provides staff development opportunities to teachers during the entire school year and summer;Assists in coordinating the P-TECH model in conjunction with the appropriate school and district office staff;Assists the principal in supervising the P-TECH program, within the school;Assists in counseling students and making recommendations for placing students in the P-TECH program;Collaborates with the Westchester Community College Liaison and Industry Partners to provide student supports;Works with district office personnel to assist in the preparation of curriculum documents, correlation of instructional materials documents, units of study and program evaluation for the P-TECH program;Monitors and assesses student achievement and participation outcomes with appropriate data collection and analysis;Uses data to make recommendations for improving the program and designing and monitoring programs for intervention and support;Plans, organizes and coordinates summer programs for students in the P-TECH program;Plans and implements special events for students that will encourage, guide, and educate them on the different choices available in the areas of P-TECH;Engages in professional activities, which contribute to leadership development;Communicates effectively with students, staff and administrative and supervisory personnel, parents and community on the P-TECH program;Facilitates program authorization and program evaluation site visits from the P-TECH organization, New York State Education Department and other agencies; andPerforms other duties as assigned.Assistant PrincipalAssist the principal in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the District’s Strategic Plan;Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school, including interpreting and enforcing school policies and regulations;Assists in fostering a positive school culture and in maintaining student discipline;Assumes other appropriate duties and responsibilities as may be requested by the building principal;Observe and evaluate staff per 3012-d regulations;Observe and evaluate teachers and support staff membersAssist in the interview process for building faculty and staffGuide the building faculty and staff in establishing building, personal and professional goals;Work collaboratively with the building principal and other building and district administratorsCommunicate with families to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
