Desired Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:Patience, patience, patienceCreative thinker and problem solverConstantly searches for new ideasComfortable with change (growth mindset vs. a fixed mindset)Non-judgmentalBelieves in the abilities of othersWilling to meet people where THEY areLove of technology as a tool for teaching and learningUnderstanding of students' needsUnderstanding of curriculum and teaching Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Budget ResponsibilitiesInstructional Domain:Assist educators in planning for the use and integration of technology in the instructional program.Incorporates cultural and linguistically diverse practices into technology integration.Participate in the design, coordination, and provision of instructional technology workshops, and researching and/or providing individual training opportunities for teachers to ensure the best use of technology through the district’s Technology Mentor program.Supervise and direct the District’s building-level Technology Mentors and BT BOCES Technology Integrators, who support district-wide technology integration capacity among staff.Co-chair the district’s technology committee/team to support and implement the district’s technology plan and school-based technology instructional goals.Participate in technology-related professional learning opportunities including self-study, workshops, and conferences on school, district, state, and national levels, as approved by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Budget.Work with BT BOCES Technology Integrators and district staff to implement 2024 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards, including professional learning implications for staff.Collaborate with BOCES Tech Integrators and in-district Technology Mentors to offer professional learner to district staff on technology-integration initiatives.Directly lead and supervise the district’s K-12 Library Media Specialists, responsible for program and budget development.Conduct non-APPR evaluations for Library Media Specialists and APPR-evaluations up to two grade-levels for classroom teachers at elementary schools which do not have an Assistant Principal (Jefferson, Mann, Coolidge).Collaborates to create a learning environment where all staff and students can become the best version of themselves. Organization Domain:Follow District Technology Plan, Acceptable Use Policy, copyright laws, and technology guidelines.Supervise department clerical and program assistant staffCoordinate with and assist the BOCES Managed Services, with the administration and support of the site-based instructional and administrative networks, including minor troubleshooting.Supports district staff in utilizing Managed IT and Data Systems such as Service Now.Serve as district Data Privacy Officer, staying up to date on Education Law 2D and all implications thereof to district policies and procedures. Communicate Ed Law 2D implications to district stakeholders as appropriate. Serve as the District State Testing Coordinator for Grades 3-8 Computer Based Testing and oversee CBT program including QUESTAR/Nextera platform management, class rostering, etc. Participate in budget decisions related to technology to assist in the provision of a well-chosen and up to date collection of technology materials and equipment.Meet bi-weekly with BOCES Managed IT and Data Teams to problem-solve district-wide issues, troubleshoot concerns, and brainstorm and implement solutions. Communicate with district stakeholders as necessary as follow-up items.Interface with building administrators to address scheduling, staffing, and related issues that arise in relation to each building’s Library Media Center. Provide technical advice and assistance to end users district-wide in the identification and solution of data usage procedures, technology problems, as well as instruction on new equipment, software, or programs, when appropriate. With the support of the Regional Information Center, coordinate the acquisition of computer hardware, software, supplies and development tools/objects as they relate to instructional technology integration, data analysis and/or creating a data infrastructure.Other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction & Budget. Political Domain:Establish an environment which encourages creative and independent use of instructional technology throughout the school.Interpret the school’s instructional technology program for staff, parents, and members of the community.Assess and report on all aspects of technology related to educational goals of the district.Strategic Domain:Create a Responsible Use Policy for student-issued 1:1 devices.Work with BT BOCES and edtech vendors on data integrations and other tech-related tasks such as data extracts and related topics. Research new and emerging technologies, software and hardware solutions, and grant opportunities, in keeping with the district technology plan and school-based instructional goals, providing this information to the building technology team/committee, principal, and administrative staff.Utilize district-level emergency response notification system as needed for emergency closings, delays, and other notifications that arise. Work with BOCES to maintain and troubleshoot the SafeArrival system and automated attendance calls that are deployed to parents/guardians from all buldings on a daily basis. Develop written instructions and procedures for the use of hardware and software as needed.Research and publicize technology-based professional development workshop offerings through the oversight of the BOCES tech integration
