Probationary English Teacher – High School & Middle School Probationary English Teacher (1 High School, 1 Middle School) Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District Position Summary: The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking dynamic, student-centered English teachers for one high school and one middle school probationary position. Ideal candidates will have experience fostering a love of reading and writing, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, and integrating literacy strategies across the curriculum. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English lessons for students in grades 7-12 Assess and support student learning through formative and summative assessments Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success Participate in professional development and school initiatives Support a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in English (7-12) required Certification or training in Literacy and/or TESOL preferred Strong classroom management and organizational skills Experience integrating technology into instruction is a plus Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Start Date: Anticipated – August 26, 2026 We are proud of the achievements of our students, the dedication and professionalism of our staff, and the commitment of our community.
