The Bedford Central School District is seeking a dynamic and visionary Principal forMount Kisco Elementary SchoolTenure Track 11 Month Position – Beginning on July 1, 2024The Bedford Central School District is a mid-sized, diverse, high-performing school district located in Westchester County, NY, serving approximately 4,000 students who reside in Bedford, Pound Ridge, Mount Kisco, and parts of New Castle and North Castle. Mount Kisco Elementary School is a school of choice in the Bedford Central School District providing a DLBE (Dual Language Bilingual Education) program for approximately 490 students who reside in Mount Kisco and from other areas of our school district. We serve students from various backgrounds, including native English speakers and students for whom English is a new language. Candidate Requirements:An accomplished instructional school leader who values and embraces diversity and is committed to language and cultural immersion education.An effective communicator and collaborator who can lead Mount Kisco Elementary School’s engaged and nurturing faculty, staff, parents, and students in a shared and inclusive vision.A comprehensive understanding of New York State Learning Standards and elementary curriculum.Knowledge of and experience with the Science of Reading.Knowledgeable about biliteracy and the pillars of bilingual education. Knowledgeable of and understanding elementary school-aged learners' academic, social, and emotional development.The capacity to promote and maintain a safe and supportive school environment that fosters students' social-emotional and academic development.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Expertise in supervision, curriculum development, and evaluation of staff and programs to improve instruction and learning.Experience in leading staff development and using data-driven leadership to inform instructional and programmatic changes. A process-oriented and inclusive problem solver who approaches all interactions with integrity and transparency.Partner with central administration, principals, and other pedagogical staff to align initiatives and instructional priorities. Qualifications:Valid New York State Administrative Certification (SBL, SAS, or SDA; Bilingual Extension Preferred)At least 5 years of successful elementary teaching experienceAt least 3 years of successful experience as a building administratorExperience with Bilingual/ESOL educationBilingual (Must speak English and Spanish) Salary: As per the agreement between the District Board of Education and the Administrators no less than $139,057.
