FOOD SERVICE HELPERS 2025-2026 School Year The Beacon City School District is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Per Diem Food Service Helpers. Position Overview: This entry-level position involves assisting with food preparation and service, as well as helping maintain a clean and organized kitchen by cleaning equipment and work areas. Employees may also perform basic cooking tasks that require less experience than those handled by Cooks or Assistant Cooks. Team members work under the guidance of experienced staff and receive support and supervision from higher-level employees. Full Performance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to acquire knowledge of large-scale preparation, cooking and serving of food and the care of tableware, glassware, and kitchen appliances; Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; Cleanliness and neatness; Ability to relate well to others; courtesy; Tact; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Schedule & Appointment: Flexible work schedule tailored to district needs and the employee’s availability Appointment through June 25, 2026 Opportunities exist for employees with strong performance to move into roles with more consistent schedules Qualifications: NYS Fingerprinting clearance required $16.95/hour Civil Service Eligibility Required
