Anticipated Start Date: August 27. 2025 Position Overview: The Beacon City School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborates well with colleagues and families, and maintains a student-centered approach to instruction and behavior support. Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and co-teaching opportunitiesDevelop and implement individualized lesson plans and accommodations/modificationsMonitor and report student progress toward IEP goals and objectivesConduct and participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetingsMaintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education servicesCulturally responsive instructional practices to support student learning needsFoster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social-emotional growth Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related fieldValid New York State teaching certification in Students with Disabilities—Birth–Grade 2, Grades 1–6, or All Grades.Experience working with students with a range of disabilitiesStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skillsKnowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction, behavior management, and progress monitoringPrior teaching experience preferred, experience in co-taught settings preferred. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with inclusive classrooms or co-teachingFamiliarity with IEP development software and data collection systemsCompensation Per BTA Contract
