Anticipated dates: December through March 2024Requirements:Valid NYS Certification in Special Education Grades 6-8, or K-12 Special Education;Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:Special Education teacher for Special Class setting: 8:1:1;NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment for Grades 6-8;Planning and delivery of Specially Designed Instruction to support individual student academic, behavioral, physical and management needs;Effective, student centered classroom management strategies & individual interventions;IEP development and use of IEP Direct for record-keeping and documentation of student progress;Culturally responsive instructional practices for middle school classrooms;Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;Effective strategies for student and family engagement;Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, required.
