This is an entry level teacher apprentice position. Under the mentorship of an experienced teacher, we are looking to mentor, coach, grow and develop a highly motivated, hard-working, and talented educator to continue our mission. We believe that great talent exists within our network, and we have a responsibility to grow our younger, less experienced teachers to the best of our ability. Our Teaching Fellow program will focus on providing our developing talent with the experiences necessary to find success within the demands of our organization. The teacher fellow program is a one year program with the expectation that the teacher fellow will transition into the classroom, full time, as a lead teacher the following school year with increased pay.TF ResponsibilitiesObserve the Teacher Leader’s use of the lesson plan templates to implement the BCIF.Review scholar data with Teacher Leader from interim assessments, benchmark. assessments running records and scholar work to Identify how data drives instructional decisions in the classroom.Identify the routines and procedures essential for success in school.Participate in weekly feedback sessions with Teacher Leader and AdministrationSupervise scholars during school-wide transitions (lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal etc.)Plan and lead instructions as directed by the Teacher Leader or AdministrationParticipate in scholar data review (ex: data conferences) with Teacher Leader and AdministrationDevelop and execute action plans with Teacher Leader after review of scholar dataParticipate in parent meetings with Teacher LeaderThe ideal candidate will:Demonstrate a commitment to becoming a great teacher through self-reflection and the implementation of feedback from the Teacher Leader and Administration.Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring every scholar will become proficient through quality planning and use of data to drive instruction.Demonstrate a commitment to supporting colleagues through feedback and assistance when necessary.Demonstrate a commitment to building lasting relationships with scholars and families using various methods such as positive notes, phone calls, or scheduled conferences.Demonstrate a commitment to utilizing both caring and stern methods of interactions with scholars.Consistently implement and support BCCS for Boys’ systems, routines and practices.Demonstrate effectiveness with lesson delivery and classroom management, where scholars are responsive to the teacher fellow as the authoritative figure in the classroom.
