The Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys is a public charter school serving scholars in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. We desire to develop in our young men the academic excellence and responsible public citizenship that will propel them to succeed in middle school, high school, college and their chosen careers. • Demonstrate a commitment to becoming a great teacher through self-reflection and the implementation of feedback;• Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring every scholar receives a quality education by having a high attendance rate at work; • Design and implement engaging, grade-appropriate, Common Core standards-based curriculum;• Meet all deadlines for submitting grades, lesson plans, and all relevant materials/paperwork as assigned by the building’s leader;• Consistently implement and support the instructional practices important to the design of our program; • Consistently implement and support BCCS for Boys’ systems, routines and practices such as signing in and out, maintaining positive adult culture, and meeting dress code expectations;• Consistently implement and support BCCS for Boys’ Point System and Behavior Management Process; • Analyze and use data from assessments to guide instructional practices;• Demonstrate a commitment to supporting colleagues through feedback and assistance when necessary;• Develop and maintain positive relationships with families and scholars through varying methods such as positive notes, phone calls, or scheduled conferences;• Communicate positive progress regularly with parents using varying methods;• Participate enthusiastically in professional development and PLC sessions;• Serve on at least one school committee that plans and develops in-school and afterschool activities/events for scholars;• Demonstrate a commitment to our school’s culture and the scholars we serve by enthusiastically participating in school sponsored activities and events;• Be flexible with my time and schedule to meet the needs of the scholars and school as determined by the building’s leaders;• Collaborate and plan eagerly with colleagues to support the academic and behavioral growth of our scholars;
