The Blind Brook-Rye UFSD has an anticipated opening for a probationary Special Education Teacher in the B.M.P Ridge Street School for the 2022-2023 school year. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Will have specialized training and experience in the structured, multisensory instruction of reading, writing, speaking, and math to students with language-based learning disabilitiesWill have experience delivering Integrated Co-Teaching servicesMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide Specialized Instruction to Students with Disabilities both in small groups and in the mainstreamProvide Resource Room, Consultant Teacher, and/or Integrated Co-Teaching Services in in an elementary school setting.Will conduct educational evaluations, write reports, and participate in Committee on Special Education MeetingsKeep accurate records of individual student progress throughout the school yearDevelop curricula throughout the school year consistent with students’ IEPs in collaboration with school administrative staffWork collaboratively with general and special education colleagues and administration REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:NYS Special Education, Grades K-6Orton-Gillingham Reading Certification preferred
